The songis produced by Nigeria’s skilful producer Masterkraft, and it begins with a strong intro ragga from Cynthia and then a call-and-response of the duo singing, “will you be my lover”. The lyrics is intimate and it easily turns the song into what lovers can sing to themselves: “You should take me home/If you just show me Lagos/Let me take you home/Let me show you Addis”, sings Henrik.
“Be My Lover” was first performed on the ongoing Coke Studio Africa 4 during the fourth episode. The song is capable of dominating emotions and getting you right on the dance floor.
