Lyrics:
Hello do you know where you are?
You’ve been out cold we almost called the cops
Don’t get up can you count to 10? Oh boy you’re so lucky we found you when we did
Cause there’s a lot of people here who wanna do you harm
But stay with me you fallen lamb and I’ll keep you in my arms

But I can’t live in the dream
The dream lives in me

Welcome child you’re free of the cage
Trying to seem sane makes you seem so strange

You look tired go on rest your head
Oh girl you’re so lucky we found you when we did
Cause there’s a lot of people here who wanna do you harm
But stay with me you fallen lamb and I’ll keep you in my arms
But I can’t live in the dream
The dream lives in me

But I can’t live in the dream
The dream lives in me

  1. The stars have finally aligned, I am finally listening to this music. I am only discovering St Vincent with this album, and my mind is blown! I have taken several walks with it, I have listened to it in the background, in the morning, in the evening… It just goes with lots of different places and times of the day. It's grounding, calming, and so SO beautiful. To me, it's strange at times, but in the best of ways, and not demonstrative at all. I don't think I've wrapped my mind around it completely yet – so I'm just listening to the album on repeat and still discovering new things every time haha. Thank you St. Vincent, for your music and for sharing who you are!

  2. The guitar kicking in is so great, after minutes of reverb, the sound of clear, loud and bold guitar is insane. It sounds huge, the best way I can describe it is as if you're seeing a new color

  3. this gave me a panic attack when I first heard it… then I hear people say "dark side of the moon" vibes and it makes sense. That album gave my my first existential crisis at 13. I think its a compliment <3

  4. It almost sounds like another point of view or a response from someone else telling the story of Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Which is freaking brilliant. Who knows, it is lovely!!!

  5. This has such a blend of Us and Them and Comfortably Numb vibes while being it's own thing altogether. I dig it. Not to mention strong Twin Peaks reference. "We are the dreamers, who dream, and then live inside the dream"

  6. The first time I heard this song I couldn't believe what I was listening to. There are so many great things about this song. First of all the singing is just beautiful. Lyrically it works as an ideal centerpiece for the album. Choice of tempo is inspired. Everything is mixed perfectly and the use of reverb and echo are tasteful. The chord change at around 3:19 grabs me every time I hear it. All the instrumental parts are wonderfully written and played and the solo is badass. Fading out with those sounds becoming increasingly muffled puts you exactly where the artist wants you to go. I'm shocked how great this song is as something so clearly inspired by Ms. Clark's influences but so unique at the same time. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!
