How do we create an environment in which our people can work at their natural best?
Leaders are not responsible for results, they’re responsible for the people who are responsible for the results.
This is the second of The 5 Practices outlined in THE INFINITE GAME.

Say it loud for the Managers in the back!
How unfortunate that you used the gate agent story to try and make your point. Can you imagine a worse job? If you have flown you are well aware that no one is more entitled than someone with a boarding pass in their hands. That poor agent has to try and deal with it every minute of every day. How come you didn't ask the entitled passenger, who thinks they are above protocol, why they think they can get on the aircraft when their row assignment hasn't been called? If I was in that lounge that is the person who would be feeling my ire, not the poor agent.
Trust no one. This dude is full of shit. Only and entitled fool would actually believe this. It’s literally you against everyone else. And if you haven’t worked this out yet, you will after you’ve been stabbed in the back, by one of your “trust team” just so they can take your spot in the line.
Amazing thoughts
Love your voice and words
Simon says:
– the leadership environment will hugely impact the performance of their team
– no trust = the team shows up and fake, lie and hide mistakes for fear of punishment
– in a trusting team people admit mistakes and their need for help without any fear of retribution
– leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.
– poor service is often due to team members being scared of breaking the rules.
“Leadership is not about being in charge, leadership is about taking care of those in your charge” love
What happens when you have a few bad apples that just won’t focus on their work. Every time you don’t look they get to distract others and not focus on any work?
The only thing in this video I disagree with is the airline example. You're in group six and you know it, Carl, sit down and wait your turn like an adult.
What do u do if u feel an employee is taking u for a ride
Air Force active duty here! We watched this in our ALS class. It really opened my mind.
But leader are people so at the end is still something about the people
💪🏽💪🏽
As much as I like Simon, I feel, that his perspective is a bit black and white.
I think I missed the 5 practices. Did anyone catch the 5 practices?
During an intense meeting with my manager and the other assistant manager, in which I was trying to advocate for and defend my team's performance and explain the role that trust of management plays in a team's performance, the other assistant manager flipped it on me (as if I hadn't been the one to bring up the lack of trust that permeates the entire establishment) they said my team was under performing because they don't trust me and that the way they gained the teams trust was by being the best at everything. I am still trying to see how that is a trust building practice. While I do see the value in a team seeing the tasks performed in their most efficient and expedient capacities and the importance that a team trusts the leader's competence at tasks they are training other's for, in this context, the other AM's performance is weaponized against people. They are constantly comparing the time it takes them to the time it takes the team members suggesting that they are falling short, all but one of which have been there for less than a year.

great video! thanks for posting.
This is serious… I feel a little terrible right now as regarding how I've been treating my people
Very powerful message! Trust is everything.
I just wish Noah didn't have to work 2 jobs.
"It is a leader's responsibility to set the environment …" Oh, my. Taking care of the people in our business is a high calling. If we just focus on our clients or customers we will surely miss the real joy of it all. Thanks, Simon Sinek!
Gimana angga? Bisa bangun team work? Atau daddy dragon? Dan Mahdi?
Wow this message is so profound I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts and they are very true. How do we change our actions to make our team members feel this way. This is the kind of leader I want to be.
Snake oil salesman. Well presented but absolutely no substance.
THE JOB OF LEADERSHIP IS TO CREATE TRUSTING TEAMS
Everything about this should be required reading for all managers. I’ve been getting my managers to watch this, and trying to live it myself. Thank you, Simon.
What should the employee have done to the customer who was not following the rules? How should it been handled differently?
Thank you for saying what has been on my mind for a long time!
ive got fired 3months ago for doing just my job , i was a head receptionist 'hotel' the guest doesnt want to stay in our hotel because the hotel or room she didnt like it , now the guest cancel it but i waive all the fees cancelation of free charges , and the manager fired me she doesnt have any experience of hotel and she fired me because she wants to put someonelse she know on my position but jesus i thank that as a blessing in disguise because i would never push the career i want and i would not be a successful if she didnt fire me i will def still there and sorrounded with bunch of idiots staff

Absolutely inspiring! Infinitely grateful for the shared ideas and insights.
Subject : No incentive for team work to students in education system
We need admission or college exam to be given in teams so teamwork has value in students mind. otherwise they don't have incentive to work in team.
We need to give incentive to students to work in team. because in early age if they don't learn team work and they don't have incentive to do team work , then you will have depressed and selfish future generation.
Youth overestimate their talent and underestimate the importance of team work and trust building, and trust did not build in short time. So practice of trust building is needed for a better future of young generation.

This was 100% my experience as an educator and administrator in U.S. public schools.
I'd really like a list of companies that care for their employees like this so i can support them!
I use to pack lunch everyday for Beth after allowing her to use my brand new ford focus 2014 for work as Aakash Patel and his team of liars manipulated everything to steal my money and force my fiancé to work so you could have intercourse with her. Great work team. It’s over. Goodbye
so encouraging!
This video made me see bad work environments from a different perspective and how much power a leader has. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us
People dictate the leadership
I’m guessing Sinek is no longer welcome at Caesar’s palace?
