If I switch to Portable OBS, does it still auto update when a new version comes out?
I wish I knew about canvas panning two weeks ago.
Is portable doable with stream labs version?

So when OBS does a version update…you have to recopy and re upload? or is there a faster way..
Nutty, I've gone ahead and used your methods to enable portable mode on my OBS to save a snapshot of my settings. Upon doing so however, I now cannot get an image file to not be missing every time I open OBS. I also cannot add new docks and get them to save their position in the software. I try adding the Quick Actions dock to my UI and locking it, no use. I close down the program and I re open it and nothing has saved. Any help on what I did wrong in enabling portable mode?
Should we delete everything OBS off the C drive once we do the Portable Install?
What would be a great feature for me, is to have an option do select or deselect which overlays I want while "Recording" and Streaming at the same time. All I want in my recordings is the Game Capture, Cam (with Greenscreen), and no overlays. Source record cannot do greenscreen cam, plus It uses a lot of cpu or gpu. I was going to use a second OBS for recording with no overlays and just the Game and Cam, but I cannot use the Cam with 2 apps at the same time (while Streaming too). So you see this is something I would love to resolve.
I don't understand why you had to confuse things here by downloading an separate zip copy when you ended up working with the one originally installed anyway? would have been much better to just do it on the one that was installed etc? however thanks works a treat and elements didn't break either so that is an bonus
I can't seem to get the portable OBS to work c,: no matter how many times I replicate these steps I don't get the "config" file
Has portable OBS been broken in a recent update? Because this isn't working for me, it still accesses the installed versions roaming data and doesn't create the config folder
Tip # 2 is awesome if you need to manage OBS for people – Any reason the TXT file already part of the zip file?

Fantastic Video! This helped me in 2023 to Setup Multiple versions of OBS 27 & 29 (Mobile Version) so I can stream on Twitch & Then use 2nd Copy to Stream on YouTube without having to log in/out of Stream Elements & Re do my OBS Settings all the time. Big LOVE! ❤
It seems that OBS 29.1 broke my stream deck while trying to use the portable version. Does anyone have a fix? I tried to follow Elgato's solution, but it seemed rather confusing.
